Cryogenic grinding uses the extremely cold temperature of liquid nitrogen to cool materials before processing to allow for finer grinding.
We can grind materials down to 100 µm and even lower.
Cryogenic grinding can achieve finer powder, increased yield and throughputs. It also helps with protecting the quality of temperature sensitive products (i.e., proteins).
A cryogenic milling operation is very similar to a normal, ambient grinding operation. It can be set up in many different ways, but the basic components may include: the mill, a cryogenic conveyor, liquid nitrogen flow controls, a liquid nitrogen supply system, and then other supporting equipment common to normal, ambient grinding operations.
